A 36-year-old man was brutally killed and his body set ablaze in a suspected land dispute in Mukuyuni, Makueni County.
Police identified the victim as Vitalis Mutinda Kituku, whose body was discovered in Itande village on August 10 with deep cuts to the head, neck, and left hand before being burned.

Investigations point to a long-standing land feud between Kituku and his neighbours. Three suspects, said to have clashed with him repeatedly over the disputed property, have been arrested and remain in custody as police pursue additional suspects. The body was taken to the mortuary for post-mortem.
Authorities note that land conflicts remain a major cause of killings in certain regions, with many such cases still pending in court.
In a separate incident in Lunyerere, Vihiga County, a 62-year-old night guard, David Mundangale, was found dead outside a hardware store where he worked. He had sustained head injuries believed to have been inflicted by a blunt object.
The attackers reportedly fled with his mobile phone and other valuables. No arrests have been made, but police have launched a manhunt. Residents have called for justice amid rising crime in the area.
