The family of the late Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), General Francis Ogolla, has announced that his burial will take place on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at his ancestral home in Alego Usonga, Siaya County.
According to the family, General Ogolla had stipulated in his Will that he wished to be laid to rest within 72 hours of his passing.
Collaborating with a committee from the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), the family is ensuring that the esteemed General receives a fitting farewell.
General Ogolla tragically lost his life in a helicopter crash on Thursday, along with nine other military personnel, at Sindar area in Elgeyo Marakwet County.
Prior to the accident, General Ogolla had plans to visit Siaya County on Saturday, April 20, to commemorate his father, Joel Okech’s approaching 100th birthday celebration, extending the festivities into Sunday and engaging with the local community.
In response to this heartbreaking event, President William Ruto declared three days of national mourning.
