Kenya Power has announced planned power outages in various regions across six counties on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.

The utility company stated that the interruptions, which will occur at different times between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, are necessary to facilitate system maintenance.
Nairobi:
Some parts of Nairobi will experience power outages between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. Affected areas include Kabarak University, Kabarak Guest House, Kabarak High School, Kabarak Bakery, Lower Mangu, Lengenet, Muricho, Lusaka, Shalom A, and Ngesumin.
Uasin Gishu:
Power will be interrupted from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in areas such as Lugari Station, Mufutu, Lugari Boys’, Mukhuyu, Lunyito, Frank, and neighboring customers.
Murang’a:
Scheduled outages from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm will impact Kamahuha Girls, Shangai, Sabasaba Market, Githembe Market, Sabasaba Water, and Gathuri Primary School.
Kitui:
Power interruptions from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm are expected in Kitooni, Kanyangii, Ilengi, Nzambia, Kangukangu Water, Kanyongonyo, Kanyangii Borehole, and surrounding areas.
Vihiga:
Outages will run from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm in Busweta, Chamakanga, Busali Union, Elunyu, Mululu, Bigina, Wangulu, Mukenye, Vokoli Girls, Naftali, Kwa Shem, Gilagiru, Mudungu, Nabwami, Gaumbwa, Weng’ondo, Gavudia, Chakombero, Sabatia, and Chavogere.
Homa Bay:
From 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, parts of Homa Bay, including Homa Bay Town, Hamaline, Rangwe, Imbo, Olare, Asumbi, Maliera, Mbita, Luanda, Rodi Kopany, Rusinga, Waondo, and nearby areas, will be affected.
Kenya Power advises residents in the listed areas to prepare accordingly.
