The high-level meeting, which included government officials, private sector leaders, and representatives from major Japanese corporations, aimed to explore opportunities within Kenya’s expanding technology sector.
During the visit, the delegation toured the Konza site and held discussions with officials from the Ministry of ICT and the Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA).
Kenyan officials outlined existing partnerships with Japan in areas such as capacity building, smart city development, and research and innovation initiatives.
Japan has been a key partner to Konza, offering both infrastructure funding and expertise, particularly in advancing digital infrastructure and shaping innovation policies.
The visit reflects growing foreign interest in Kenya’s digital economy, with Konza positioning itself as a regional hub for cutting-edge technology and innovation in East Africa.
Japanese companies showed interest in collaborating on artificial intelligence, robotics, renewable energy solutions, and manufacturing, aligning with Kenya’s goal to expand its technology-driven industries.
