In a momentous gathering, Mutonguni Ward residents on Thursday celebrated not only the spirit of competition but also the unity and talent defining their community. Hon. Benjamin Mulandi, the Kitui County Assembly representative for Mutonguni Ward, successfully hosted the inaugural Kiluma Cup playoffs and finals, awarding the best team.
“Fostering sportsmanship and acknowledging local team efforts, the first edition of the Kiluma Cup is a resounding success. With 30 teams participating, our community’s passion for sports and nurturing youth talents is evident. The Best Team, Kakeani White Stars, receives a well-deserved trophy, uniforms, and a cash reward—a testament to their dedication and teamwork,” disclosed Mulandi.
For Mulandi, this marks just the beginning. “I am committed to making the Kiluma Cup a tradition showcasing our sporting prowess and nurturing the dreams of our talented youth. By supporting initiatives like this, we invest in our community’s future success,” he added.
Mulandi unveiled his goal to champion initiatives empowering youth, fostering teamwork, and providing platforms for talent expression. The Kiluma Cup will grow, creating opportunities for youth success and contributing to Kitui County’s broader achievements.
He expressed gratitude for unwavering support, urging the community to anticipate more Kiluma Cup editions, where unity and sporting excellence will brightly shine in Mutonguni Ward.
