A woman in Kitengela, Kajiado County, was apprehended by authorities after it was discovered that she had been harboring her deceased husband’s body in their home, seemingly hopeful for his resurrection.
Law enforcement officers acted upon complaints from neighbors regarding a foul odor emanating from the couple’s residence in Sifa Farm, Kitengela. Despite the suspicions raised by neighbors, the 58-year-old woman resisted allowing the police entry into the premises.

Upon gaining access, authorities found the husband’s body decaying beside the bed in the living room, while the woman appeared frail and unhealthy.
Neighbors mentioned that the couple adhered to specific religious beliefs, abstaining from all food except bananas and watermelons, and refraining from having children. Consequently, the couple remained childless.

The deceased was transferred to City Mortuary for an autopsy, with plans for a burial ceremony in Nyeri County, his place of origin. Meanwhile, the woman was escorted to Mathari National Teaching and Referral Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

Originally from Tanzania, the woman had previously worked as a lecturer, while her late husband had been employed by City Hall in Nairobi County before retiring a few years ago.
