Faith Kipyegon, Team Kenya’s captain at the Paris Olympics, stated that the team gave their best in the fiercely competitive games.

Speaking during a breakfast hosted by President William Ruto at Eldoret State Lodge, Kipyegon acknowledged the intense competition in Paris and expressed gratitude for the government’s support and the fans’ encouragement.
Kipyegon highlighted the team’s strong performance, noting their return with 11 medals—four gold, two silver, and five bronze. She extended thanks to the government, the Ministry of Sports, Athletics Kenya, and global fans for their support.
The team arrived back in the country on Tuesday night to a warm welcome on Thursday morning at Eldoret Airport.
Leaders including Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii, Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wesley Rotich, and Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi were present to celebrate their return. The athletes enjoyed a festive reception, showcasing their medals and sharing moments of joy.
The team featured notable athletes such as triple Olympic 1,500m champion Faith Kipyegon, double gold medallist Beatrice Chebet, and 800m runner Koitatoi Kidali, along with 800m gold medallist Emmanuel Wanyonyi, marathon bronze medallist Benson Kipruto, and 5,000m silver medallist Ronald Kwemoi.
Two-time Olympic champion Eliud Kipchoge was also part of the team.
