Kingdom Bank Expands with 22nd Branch in Meru

Kingdom Bank inaugurates its 22nd branch in Meru County as part of an expansion initiative that has seen three new branches open this year.

This latest branch is strategically positioned to support Meru’s vibrant agricultural community and foster local business growth.

Anthony Mburu, Managing Director and CEO of Kingdom Bank, expressed excitement at the branch opening, highlighting Meru’s reputation for productive agriculture and entrepreneurial spirit.

“We are thrilled to begin serving the people of Meru County,” Mburu remarked. “Our goal is to understand and meet their financial needs effectively.”

As a subsidiary of Cooperative Bank Group, Kingdom Bank aims to enhance support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Kenya.

Since its acquisition from Jamii Bora Bank in 2020, the bank has shown substantial growth, boasting an asset base of Sh36.7 billion and net earnings of Sh655 million in 2023.

The bank plans to continue expanding its network, focusing on carefully selected locations nationwide. It has been instrumental in empowering MSMEs in retail, agriculture, and manufacturing sectors through dedicated services and its agribusiness unit, which supports farm input providers, farmers, and food processors.

Godfrey Mburia, Director of Cooperative Bank of Kenya, welcomed Kingdom Bank to Meru, underscoring the collaboration’s potential to drive local economic development and prosperity.

Located at Ntima Building on Tom Mboya Street, the new branch marks a significant milestone for the region’s farmers and entrepreneurs.
