Kalonzo Musyoka argues against the adoption of a government of national unity for Kenya at this time, despite acknowledging its potential benefits.
Speaking at the Pan African Youth Convention in Nairobi, he expressed that such a measure should ideally be implemented immediately after elections, as President Cyril Ramaphosa has done in South Africa.
Kalonzo emphasized the importance of timely action, suggesting that waiting for two years before considering such a government, as proposed by others, would be inappropriate, particularly when significant challenges like loss of life have occurred.
He reiterated his commitment to remain in opposition until what he perceives as a dictatorship is removed from Kenya.
These remarks from Kalonzo precede a planned national dialogue aimed at addressing Kenya’s critical issues, an initiative supported by other political leaders in the country.
