John Matara has been formally charged with the murder of socialite Starlet Wahu, marking the culmination of investigations into the case.
Matara, identified as the prime suspect in the murder, appeared before Milimani High Court Judge Kanyi Kimondo on Friday and entered a plea of not guilty to the charges leveled against him.
The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) is anticipated to file an application seeking the denial of bail for Matara. The court has scheduled a mention of the case for February 26, during which the DPP’s application opposing Matara’s release on bond will be addressed.
