Last week, police in western Colorado responded to reports of a suspicious situation, leading to the discovery of a human head in a freezer at a residence on Pinyon Avenue in Grand Junction.
The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office reported that the property, recently sold, was being cleaned by the new homeowners who contacted authorities suspecting they had found human remains.
According to KREX-TV, the chest freezer was located in the front yard of the property. The individuals cleaning the home, now the new homeowners, alerted the police after finding a bag containing what they believed to be human remains.
Authorities are treating the case as a potential homicide, and while details are limited, they have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat, characterizing it as an “isolated incident.” Pinyon Avenue is situated in central Grand Junction, near the intersection of Orchard Avenue and 28 3/4 Road.
