Gor Beats Leopards in KPL Showdown

Gor Mahia secures a significant victory over AFC Leopards, extending their lead at the top of the Kenyan Premier League by nine points, according to coach Jonathan McKinstry.

McKinstry commends his team’s efforts in preparing for and winning the match.

Despite the win, he acknowledges the challenges ahead in their quest for the league title. Meanwhile, AFC Leopards’ coach Thomas Trucha criticizes his team’s defensive lapse that led to Gor Mahia’s winning goal. The match’s highlight was Austin Odhiambo’s goal for Gor Mahia, exploiting a defensive error by AFC Leopards.

However, Gor Mahia faced a setback as their goalkeeper Kevin Oluoch was sent off in the closing moments of the game.

This victory extends Gor Mahia’s lead over Kenya Police, their closest rivals in the league standings. Odhiambo, reflecting on his former allegiance to AFC Leopards, expresses his commitment to scoring goals for Gor Mahia, emphasizing his professional duty to perform well for his team.

He currently stands as a contender for the Golden Boot award with seven goals this season.
