Bayer Leverkusen have confirmed the appointment of former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag as their new head coach.

Ten Hag takes over from Xabi Alonso, who guided Leverkusen to a historic Bundesliga and German Cup double in the 2023–2024 season. Alonso was unveiled on Sunday as Real Madrid’s new head coach, succeeding Carlo Ancelotti.
The Dutch tactician parted ways with Manchester United in October 2024 after two-and-a-half mixed seasons.
While his tenure at Old Trafford had its challenges, he did secure both the League Cup and FA Cup during his spell.
