Each year’s Independence Day is marked under a specific national theme focusing on unity, development, or social transformation.
This latest trip adds to a series of regional and international engagements in which Kindiki has represented President William Ruto abroad.
In November 2024, he attended the swearing-in of Botswana’s President Duma Boko — his first official foreign assignment as Deputy President. He was accompanied by senators Fatuma Dullo (Isiolo) and Eddy Oketch (Migori), as well as several MPs including Owen Baya, Vincent Musyoka, John Njuguna Kawanjiku, Victor Koech, and Elisha Odhiambo.

In January 2025, Kindiki represented Kenya at the inauguration of Mozambique’s President Daniel Francisco Chapo, and in February, he attended the state funeral of Namibia’s founding President Sam Nujoma in Windhoek.

While in Namibia, Kindiki met with members of the Kenyan diaspora, discussing key government efforts to boost economic growth and improve citizens’ welfare. The diaspora representatives also raised issues related to immigration, travel, and trade that they hope the government will address.
