The well-known Gospel singer Daddy Owen has broken his silence regarding the visit of President William Ruto’s daughter, Charlene Ruto, to his hometown, terming it as a significant highlight of 2023.
Charlene Ruto visited Daddy Owen’s residence in Kakamega on December 23, 2023, where she was formally introduced to his mother, close relatives, and the gathered neighbors.
Sharing exclusive photos from the event, the artist behind the hit ‘System ya Kapungala’ provided more details about the surprise visit. He expressed that the First Daughter engaged in dance and song as she met his mother and relished in some of Luhyaland’s most delightful dishes.
“2023 was a remarkable year! I am grateful to GOD! While there were numerous highlights, the climax, the pinnacle, and the crowning moment occurred towards the end of the year when @charlruto visited my home in Eshieywe, a.k.a. Kakamega!” he shared.
“We celebrated with songs, dance, and ululations! Abhashiere came with their best dancing shoes to whirl to the real isikuti made from the tough ‘imbulu’ skin!”
A proud son of Mulembe, Daddy Owen explicitly mentioned the various traditional foods enjoyed by Charlene Ruto, emphasizing that the village, including his mother, was delighted to host such an esteemed guest.
“We savored various Abhatsotso traditional delicacies from ‘amakwakwata’ to ‘lhisebhebhe’… Ebhusang’ang’a village was happy, my mum was happy, she loves guests, and the guests were happy as well,” he added.
In November, Daddy Owen previously shared photos of himself playing basketball with Charlene, leading to speculations and rumors about a potential romantic connection. When contacted by Milele FM, the musician addressed these rumors, clarifying that their relationship is purely professional and based on collaborative projects.
In the recent photos shared by the singer, Charlene is seen wearing a red blouse with a blue ‘shuka’ wrapped around her waist, while Daddy Owen is dressed in a silk, flowery shirt and black trousers. Another photo captures Owen’s female relatives presenting a pot of beans to the President’s daughter.
