The spouse of Changamwe Member of Parliament, Omar Mwinyi, Rukiya Khatib, has passed away. She reportedly fell suddenly ill on Monday night and was promptly taken to Pandya Hospital for treatment, where she ultimately succumbed to her illness.
Her remains have been transported to her residence in Portreitz, where preparations are underway for her funeral today. As per the MP’s personal assistant, Ibrahim Kilai, Rukiya will be laid to rest in the Mwingo area following the 1:00 pm prayer.
Leaders have expressed their condolences for Rukiya’s passing. The Orange Democratic Party (ODM) conveyed a message of sympathy to Mwinyi, expressing solidarity during this challenging period and invoking prayers for peace from Allah SWT.
