Body of Former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo Taken to Lee Funeral Home

The body of former Lugari Member of Parliament Cyrus Jirongo has been transferred to Lee Funeral Home.

A family representative and current Lugari MP Nabii Nabwera received the body after police moved it from the Naivasha Sub-County Mortuary, where it had been held pending a postmortem.

Jirongo died earlier today following a road accident on the Nairobi–Nakuru highway.

Preliminary police reports indicate that the former lawmaker was driving towards Western Kenya when his vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with a bus near the Karai area in Naivasha.

His car was badly damaged in the crash, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Several passengers aboard the bus sustained injuries and were taken to hospitals in Naivasha for medical treatment.
