Bar Brawl Turns Deadly as Man Is Stabbed in Meru

A 21-year-old man was killed after being stabbed during a confrontation at a bar in Kabachi area, Mutuati, Meru County.

Police said the victim, identified as Basilio Mungathia, got into a disagreement with a woman inside the bar on Saturday. During the altercation, the woman allegedly stabbed him, causing fatal injuries.

She was arrested and is being held for questioning as investigations continue ahead of possible prosecution.

Mungathia’s body was taken to the mortuary for an autopsy and other necessary procedures.

In a separate incident in North Horr, Marsabit County, a 34-year-old man, Badaqe Galgalo, was found dead inside a house in what police suspect was a killing linked to a love triangle.

Reports indicate that the deceased had visited the house while the homeowner was away. The husband reportedly returned unexpectedly, leading to a confrontation that escalated into a fatal stabbing. The suspect fled the scene and police said efforts to trace him were ongoing.

The suspected murder weapon was later recovered about 500 metres from the house. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

Meanwhile, in Loya, Turkana County, a 60-year-old man was discovered dead in his house in what is believed to be another murder case.

Police identified the deceased as Akobo Amuran, who lived alone. His body was found lying in a pool of blood with stab injuries. The body was taken to the mortuary as investigations continue.
