Wafula Chebukati, the ex-chair of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, is receiving treatment at a Nairobi hospital, where he has been for nearly a week.

Sources at the hospital revealed to The Star that Chebukati is currently in the Intensive Care Unit.
“We are closely monitoring his condition in the ICU,” said one source.
The specifics of Chebukati’s illness have not been disclosed.
According to close family members, he had been receiving home treatment but was hospitalized when his condition worsened.
Chebukati served as the IEBC chair for six years and retired in January 2023. He oversaw the 2017 and 2022 General Elections.
