Malava MP Moses Malulu Injendi Is Dead

Malulu Injendi, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Malava, has passed away.

In a statement issued on Monday, February 17, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula confirmed that Injendi died at Agha Khan Hospital in Nairobi.

“It is with great sorrow that I announce the passing of our dear colleague, Hon. Moses Malulu Injendi, who passed away this evening, February 17, 2025, at 5:15 pm at Aga Khan Hospital. He was the MP for Malava Constituency and Vice Chairman of the Departmental Committee on Education & Research,” Wetang’ula said.

Wetang’ula described Injendi as a dedicated leader who worked tirelessly to improve the lives of his constituents.

“Hon. Injendi was serving his third term in Parliament, having been elected continuously since 2013 (11th Parliament). He was a devoted and passionate representative, serving his people with integrity and unwavering commitment. His relentless efforts in shaping our legislative processes, particularly in the areas of education and the sugar industry, were aimed at improving the lives of Kenyans and will be deeply missed,” he added.

Prior to his political career, Injendi had an accomplished academic background, serving as a lecturer at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa from 1996 to 2013. He also served as the university’s Registrar from 2001 to 2009.

Injendi entered politics in 2013 and became the MP for Malava, a position he held until his death.

In December 2022, he founded the Malulu Injendi Foundation, a non-governmental organization focused on community empowerment through education and healthcare initiatives.
