Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accompanied by his wife, Pastor Dorcas, participated in the funeral of Eric Mutugi Kivuti, the late son of former Senator Lenny Kivuti.
The service took place in Kanyuambora, Mbeere North Sub-county, where locals gathered to honor Eric’s life following his death from a brief illness.

Gachagua extended his condolences to the grieving family and the people of Embu.

“My wife Pastor Dorcas and I join friends, mourners, and all Kenyans in saying goodbye to Eric Mutugi Kivuti, the son of former Senator Lenny Kivuti,” Gachagua remarked. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and the people of Embu. Farewell, Eric.”
In December 2024, Senator Kivuti announced the death of his son at MP Shah Hospital after a short illness.
“I am deeply saddened. I lost my beloved son, Eric Mutugi, at MP Shah Hospital yesterday following a brief illness. We canceled our family Christmas celebrations. Please join my family in making funeral arrangements for my son. May God bless his soul,” Kivuti wrote on Facebook.
