The National Assembly will reconvene for plenary sessions this afternoon following a one-month recess. MPs adjourned on June 20, immediately after approving the Finance Bill, 2024, which has since been withdrawn.
Key items on the agenda include deliberations on the Finance Bill and the Budget and Appropriations Committee’s report on the supplementary budget.
Scheduled for Wednesday afternoon is the review of the President’s reservations to the Finance Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 30 of 2024).
Upon their return, MPs will also address damage incurred during recent anti-government protests led by Gen Z demonstrators, amounting to an initial assessment of Ksh 94 million.
Speaker Moses Wetangaula noted that the memorandum regarding the nomination of 11 Cabinet Secretaries has yet to be submitted to the House.
