Nairobi CBD: Businesses Closed Ahead of Planned Protests

As planned protests loom, Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) has seen businesses closing their doors and streets unusually empty.

Security agencies have ramped up patrols, with police visible on major thoroughfares and stationed at city entrances. Residents, wary of past incidents of vandalism and looting during protests, have largely stayed indoors.
