More than 30 individuals were apprehended in Kiambu for consuming alcohol at an unauthorized bar in Kihara town, according to the Kiambaa Sub County Security Committee.
The Deputy County Commissioner, Geoffrey Taragon, confirmed the incident, citing concerns that Paradiso Bar, the premises in question, may be peddling inferior quality alcohol unfit for consumption. Taragon further stated that the bar owner had disregarded the County government’s inspection protocols.
Salome Wambui, a Gachie town resident in Kiambu County, expressed distress over the loss of young men to illicit alcohol and endorsed the local administration’s efforts to combat such substances. County officials have urged youths to adhere to legal regulations.
Douglas Kang’ethe, the Community Policing Chairman, highlighted progress in curbing alcohol-related issues, noting improved compliance with opening hours among revelers. However, he pointed out Paradiso Bar as a persistent violator of government-mandated operating times.
