Ephas Musisa, who gained notoriety after a humiliating dismissal by Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen while seeking employment, has finally found a job opportunity.
Musisa, hailing from Vihiga County, expressed his joy at landing a job despite his unpleasant encounter with the CS.
He has been hired as a driver at the Kenya National Highways Authority Project office in Nakuru.
An elated Musisa recounted his struggles with job hunting, stating that his last employment dated back to 1996, and he remained employed until losing his job in 2020.
Following his job loss, Musisa faced challenging times with his family until he decided to seek the attention of the Cabinet Secretary as a final resort.
“I met Honorable Murkomen earlier this week. I didn’t know him personally, but I was familiar with him through politics,” he explained.
Despite the initial impression left by Murkomen’s response, Musisa was surprised to learn that the CS had followed up on his case, ultimately leading to his employment.
“He inquired about my situation, and I mentioned my joblessness. He said he doesn’t offer jobs here,” Musisa recalled.
“To my surprise, the Honorable went and discussed how I could secure employment. He sent his representatives to reach out to me.”
Speaking from an office and holding what appeared to be employment documents, Musisa expressed gratitude to the Kenya Kwanza administration for facilitating his job placement.
“I thank President William Ruto’s government wholeheartedly. I’ve been searching for a job during Moi’s presidency, Kibaki’s era, and Uhuru’s term, but I couldn’t secure employment,” he remarked.
The viral video capturing the interaction between Murkomen and Musisa occurred during the Cabinet Secretary’s meeting with the eCitizen team to address issues affecting public services.
