Tragedy struck on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway as ten individuals, including a 2-year-old toddler, lost their lives in a devastating collision involving five vehicles.
The incident, which occurred at 8:30 pm in the Salama area, resulted in a scene of horror and grief.
Dr. Jane Mwende, the Medical Superintendent at Sultan Amud sub-county hospital, revealed that nine bodies were brought to the facility by authorities on Monday night, with the critically injured child tragically succumbing to their wounds.
Additionally, Mwende confirmed that twelve individuals sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital, with some requiring further treatment at Makindu Hospital.
