Kitui Central MP Advocates for Road Safety Measures at Funeral Service

During the funeral service of Philip Mwania, the Sub County Police Commander in Limuru, Kiambu County, held in Chuluni Ward, Kitui East, Kitui County, the Kitui Central MP, Dr. Makali Mulu, conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family. Dr. Mulu emphasized the urgency of addressing safety concerns on the Kitui-Kibwezi road to prevent further tragedies.

Highlighting the need for action, Dr. Mulu urged the Kenya National Highways Authority (KENHA) to prioritize the marking of the road and installation of essential signs, bumps, and speed bumps near the Nzeu bridge.

He emphasized the commitment of members of parliament to advocate for these safety measures to ensure the well-being of all road users.

The MP underscored the significance of Philip Mwania’s tragic involvement in a road accident along the perilous Kitui-Kibwezi road, serving as a poignant reminder of the pressing need for action.

Dr. Mulu lamented the loss of too many lives on this hazardous stretch of road, particularly near the Nzeu bridge, and stressed the necessity of decisive measures to prevent further tragedies.

Dr. Mulu reaffirmed the solemn duty of members of parliament to prioritize the safety and well-being of their constituents. He pledged unwavering commitment to pushing KENHA for swift and decisive action, advocating tirelessly for proper road marking and installation of essential safety features.

“In memory of Philip Mwania and countless others who have lost their lives on the Kitui-Kibwezi road, we will continue to advocate for the implementation of necessary safety measures to safeguard the lives of all road users,” Dr. Mulu concluded.
