Man Kills Wife Over Sexual Denial

A 48-year-old man from the West Nile Region of Northwestern Uganda has been arrested by police for allegedly killing his 23-year-old wife.

The incident, which occurred on March 1, 2024, reportedly stemmed from a dispute over the wife’s refusal to engage in sexual activity.

The couple had been sharing a bed but refraining from intimacy due to accusations of infidelity made by the wife.

On the night of the incident, the husband became enraged, leading to a physical altercation where he struck his wife, causing fatal injuries.

Following the crime, the husband surrendered himself to the authorities.

Police spokesperson Fred Enaga expressed concern over the increasing number of domestic violence cases, particularly instances where spouses resort to violence over issues such as denial of conjugal rights and suspicions of infidelity.

Enaga emphasized the importance of respecting the right to life of every individual in relationships.
