Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has touched down in Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa, for an official visit.
Upon his arrival at the airport, Mudavadi was greeted by Kenya’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, George Orina, and Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Director General of Africa Affairs, Fisseh Shawul.
In addition to his role as the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Mudavadi is slated to co-chair the 36th Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) between Kenya and Ethiopia.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, several agreements aimed at bolstering bilateral relations between the two nations will be signed during the visit.
The meeting holds significance in reviving the Ethio-Kenya Joint Ministerial Commission, which has faced a seven-year hiatus.

Ambassador Shawul emphasized the cultural and linguistic ties that bind Ethiopia and Kenya, highlighting their importance in strengthening bilateral relations. He noted their collaboration in peacekeeping, counterterrorism efforts, and combating illegal human trafficking in the East African region.
Ahead of the meeting, Addis Ababa reiterated Ethiopia’s commitment to collaborating with Kenya across various sectors.
