In Kitui, a 47-year-old resident of Mung’ang’a, Miambani, succumbed to injuries from machete wounds sustained in a suspected dispute over land.
The man was undergoing treatment at Kitui Level 4 Hospital, where he was taken by his family.
According to the local chief, Muthoka Kilonzo, the victim called for assistance, but when his family arrived, he had already been assaulted, and the assailants had fled.
Three individuals were apprehended as authorities launched an inquiry into the incident.
The chief stated, “We suspect the attack is related to a land dispute, but we are conducting investigations and urge community members to provide any information they may have.”
