A female prison constable has been reported to have died by suicide at her rented residence in Tumaini Estate, Kitale, according to police statements. The body of Linda Machuma Wafula was found on Sunday following complaints from neighbors about a strange smell emanating from her home.
As per the police report, Ms. Wafula was last spotted at her residence on February 1st, prior to the discovery of her body on Sunday. Upon arrival, officers found her body positioned against a bunk bed, with an electric cord still tied around her neck.
Despite a thorough search, no suicide note was uncovered in her residence. The crime scene was processed by forensic investigators, and her body was transported to the Cherangany Nursing Home Mortuary.
