Thika: Two Suspected Thugs Shot Dead

On Wednesday, January 24, police in Thika, Kiambu County, fatally shot two suspected criminals during a robbery incident.

The duo created a commotion while robbing residents before their demise.

Reportedly, the suspects, along with accomplices who fled, were burglarizing a local store by breaching its perimeter wall.

Residents’ alarm prompted police intervention, resulting in the death of two suspects, while three others escaped with gunshot wounds.

The targeted shop belonged to a police officer who participated in the pursuit.

The incident occurred amidst a surge in robberies, with the gang terrorizing locals for valuables.

Authorities vowed to combat rising crime levels in the area.

Thika West Police commander Lawrence Muchangi emphasized the police’s resolve to tackle criminal activity and cautioned youth against crime involvement.

In a related event, police disclosed the involvement of two suspects in a raid at Thika Girls Karibaribi Secondary School, where one guard was killed, and another sustained severe injuries, later succumbing to them in hospital care.

The area witnesses heightened criminal activity despite ongoing police efforts.
