President William Ruto on Tuesday welcomed a delegation from the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) at State House, Nairobi.
The meeting brought together the Head of State and senior representatives from the global recording industry, highlighting Kenya’s ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships within the music and creative sectors.

The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) is the global organisation representing the recorded music industry.
Based in London, the non-profit body represents more than 8,000 record companies in over 70 countries, including major labels such as Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment and Warner Music Group, as well as thousands of independent music companies.
The organisation advocates for the value of recorded music, promotes stronger copyright and intellectual property protections, and leads international efforts to combat music piracy.
It also publishes the Global Music Report, widely regarded as one of the leading sources of data and analysis on the global recorded music industry.
The State House meeting comes as Kenya continues to promote the creative economy as a key contributor to economic growth, with the music industry playing an increasingly significant role in job creation, talent development and expanding digital opportunities for artists.
