Police in Mukaa, Makueni County, have confirmed the discovery of a woman’s body dumped along a roadside.
The deceased has been identified as 54-year-old Irene Wanjiku Ndebe, a lecturer who was reported missing on February 8, 2026, from Thindigua, Kiambu County.

Authorities say the circumstances surrounding her death remain unclear. Relatives accompanied police to a local mortuary to formally identify the body, which showed visible injuries to the head and back. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
Investigators from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) were present during the identification process. Officials noted that the body was discovered on February 7, and no arrests have been made so far.

Police suspect that Irene was abducted in Nairobi, killed while in transit, and later dumped in Makueni County. The motive for the killing remains unknown.
