A woman has been taken into custody after allegedly killing her husband during a domestic altercation in Nairobi’s Kabiria area.
Police said the victim, identified as 36-year-old Maurice Mwenda, succumbed to injuries after being stabbed during a disagreement with his wife.

The incident occurred on February 3 inside the couple’s home, where an argument reportedly escalated into a physical confrontation. Investigators say the woman picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed Mwenda in the collarbone area.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
According to police, the suspect initially claimed her husband had died after suddenly falling ill. However, a post-incident examination at the mortuary revealed a stitched wound on the left collar, raising suspicion and leading to her arrest.

Mwenda’s body has been preserved at the mortuary as investigations continue, pending a postmortem examination.
Police noted that cases of domestic violence have been increasing, even as authorities intensify efforts to address and prevent such incidents.
