Ndindi Nyoro Breaks Silence on UDA Rift!

Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has shed light on the roots of his fallout with the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA), blaming it on what he says is the party’s departure from the promises made to Kenyans.

Speaking during a television interview on Wednesday night, January 14, 2026, Nyoro said tensions began to emerge when the President William Ruto-led party failed to adhere to the agenda it championed during the 2022 election campaigns.

The outspoken legislator, once regarded as one of UDA’s key allies, noted that he was actively involved in popularising the party’s manifesto but feels the leadership has since strayed from those commitments.

According to Nyoro, the economy remains the central issue behind his criticism of the party. He argued that UDA had pledged to exercise restraint in government borrowing, a promise he says has not been honoured.

He also faulted the government over education, accusing it of failing to prioritise funding for the sector as promised.

Nyoro further raised concern over how the administration has handled dissenting voices, particularly among young people, describing the response as heavy-handed.

In addition, the MP criticised what he termed as excessive investment in public relations at the expense of tangible results on the ground.

Nyoro previously served as chairperson of the National Assembly Budget and Appropriations Committee but was removed from the position following his rift with the ruling party.
