Embrace Unity and Compassion, Uhuru Tells Kenyans

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent Christmas greetings to Kenyans, calling for unity, compassion and renewed hope as the country marks the festive season.

In his Christmas Day message on Thursday, the fourth President wished families across the nation peace and joy, while reminding citizens of the shared values that hold the country together.

Uhuru also urged Kenyans travelling to celebrate with loved ones to exercise caution on the roads, emphasising patience and strict observance of traffic rules.

“No journey is worth a life,” he said, appealing to motorists to prioritise safety so that everyone reaches their destinations safely.

Looking ahead, the former Head of State wished the nation a peaceful and prosperous 2026 anchored on unity and mutual respect, while praying for God’s blessings upon Kenyan families and the country.

Meanwhile, President William Ruto also conveyed his Christmas wishes, expressing gratitude to Kenyans for their resilience throughout 2025 and wishing them a peaceful festive season and a blessed new year.

He cautioned road users to be responsible as holiday travel peaks, urging motorists to avoid reckless behaviour that could result in accidents.

Ruto’s message came as road safety agencies stepped up efforts to curb the rise in accidents common during the Christmas and New Year period, with authorities increasing enforcement and urging passengers to report unsafe driving.

As Kenyans continue to exchange festive messages online, many have reflected on the year’s challenges and milestones while looking forward to the year ahead.
