A nine-year-old girl tragically died after a fire gutted her family’s three-room home in Limuru on Friday night.
The girl, a pupil at Rironi Primary School, was reportedly alone in the house when the blaze broke out, as her parents had gone to attend a neighbour’s funeral.

Residents who rushed to help said rescue efforts were hindered by severe water shortages and a delayed response from firefighters. They appealed to the county government to resolve the persistent water crisis to prevent future tragedies.
Confirming the incident, Limuru DCIO Peter Alenga urged parents and guardians to be extra vigilant, especially during the school holidays, to keep children safe.
