Slain Meru blogger Daniel Muthiani, popularly known as Sniper, was on Friday buried at his home in Kabuitu, Igembe East ward, nearly two years after his gruesome killing.
Family, friends, and relatives who gathered for the send-off called on the government to fast-track justice, insisting those behind his murder must be held accountable.

The family had earlier vowed not to bury him until suspects were prosecuted. His case is still before the Kiambu Law Courts, where five individuals have been charged and are awaiting trial outcomes.
Sniper disappeared in Meru town on December 2, 2023, and weeks later his body was discovered on the banks of the Mutonga River in Tharaka Nithi County.
A post-mortem by government pathologist Dr. Johansen Oduor revealed he had been tortured and strangled. His body showed neck injuries, fractured ribs, and signs of suffocation.
Since then, his remains had been preserved at the Maua Methodist Hospital mortuary until the family finally agreed to lay him to rest.
