A team of tourism officials is currently in Nairobi as part of an African roadshow aimed at rebranding Dubai as not just a luxury destination but one that is also accessible to middle-income tourists.
With over 45 direct flights every week between Kenya and the UAE via Emirates and Kenya Airways, Dubai continues to view Kenya as a vital tourism source.
The visiting officials from Dubai’s tourism department are holding talks with local travel stakeholders to promote the city’s evolving, budget-friendly offerings.
Dubai now features an increasing number of one- to three-star hotels and affordable attractions like the Museum of the Future and Dubai Frame, which costs less than $13 (about Sh1,678) to enter.
Amna Bin Hendi from Visit Dubai noted, “We have a wide range of budget hotels and family-friendly activities we want Kenyans to know about. That’s why we’re here.”
The campaign also promotes Dubai’s annual shopping festivals, where brands such as Zara and H&M slash prices by up to 80%, appealing to cost-conscious visitors.
Dubai has become an increasingly favored destination for Kenyan holidaymakers, especially during festive periods.
