At least four people have died and two are missing after an explosion at a mine in northern Spain, officials say.
The explosion occurred at the Cerredo mine in Degaña, Asturias, about 450 kilometers northwest of Madrid at around 09:30 local time (08:30 BST).
Local emergency services said they had been called about a “machinery problem” at the mine.
At least three others were injured and a search is ongoing for the missing workers.
Ambulances, fire and rescue services have been dispatched to the scene.
The rescue team has also deployed its dog unit. The injured were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez sent his condolences to the families of the victims.
