A 12-year-old girl lost her life, while the others are receiving treatment at Wamalwa Kijana Referral Hospital. The incident occurred in Mbai Farm Village, Kiminini Ward, Kiminini Constituency.
The girl’s parents explained that they had received the beef from a neighbor on Thursday, unaware of its potential danger. Patrick Wafula, the father, shared that after eating the meat, his children began experiencing severe stomach pains and vomiting, which eventually led to his daughter’s death.
Mary Mukhwana, the local village elder, confirmed the incident and stated that both health and security authorities are investigating to understand the full scope of the situation. She expressed concern that more victims may be affected than currently known.
The community has called for a comprehensive investigation, urging health officials to trace the origin of the contaminated meat.
