Police in Kakamega have opened an investigation after the body of a woman was discovered wrapped in a sack and dumped in a river in Makunga, Navakholo.
According to police, residents spotted the green sack floating on River Sasala before alerting authorities. The body was already decomposed when it was retrieved.
Officers believe the woman may have been killed elsewhere before the body was disposed of in the river.
The remains have been taken to the mortuary as police work to identify the victim and conduct an autopsy.
