Governor Wilber Ottichilo emphasized that the creation and adoption of this anthem is key to shaping the county’s future.
Ottichilo made these remarks during the swearing-in ceremony of the county Flag and Symbols Selection Panel at the County headquarters.
The Governor stated that to build a united and prosperous county, Vihiga needs symbols that honor its heritage and inspire the aspirations of its people.
“Once established, the anthem will foster unity, celebrate identity and heritage, encourage pride and patriotism, and increase visibility and recognition,” Dr. Ottichilo added.
The panel’s responsibility is to create a powerful and memorable anthem that embodies the county’s spirit, involving local residents in the process to ensure inclusivity and a sense of ownership.
