TSC Announces 8,707 Teacher Vacancies

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has announced 8,707 job openings to fill vacancies created by natural attrition.

According to a notice in MyGov newspaper, the positions available include 5,862 for primary schools, 21 for junior schools, and 2,824 for secondary schools.

Successful candidates will be employed on Permanent and Pensionable terms. To be eligible, applicants must be Kenyan citizens with a P1 certificate for primary schools or a diploma in education for junior and secondary schools. Additionally, candidates must be registered with the TSC.

Interested and qualified individuals can apply online via the TSC website at www.tsc.go.ke under the ‘Careers’ section or at teachersonline.tsc.go.ke. The application period runs from December 31, 2024, to January 13, 2025. Further information about specific vacancies by county or school is available on the TSC website.

Applicants are reminded that the TSC’s guidelines for the 2024/2025 financial year will apply, and those shortlisted will need to present original academic and professional certificates. Candidates should only submit one application, as submitting multiple forms will result in disqualification. Manual applications will not be accepted.

Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously worked for the Commission. The application portal will be open from December 31, 2024, until January 13, 2025, at midnight.

As an equal opportunity employer, TSC encourages persons with disabilities (PWDs) to apply. The Commission also warned against fraudulent activities, urging applicants not to pay anyone offering to help with the recruitment process. “The recruitment is free of charge,” the notice stated.

Applicants who encounter fraudulent activities should report them to the nearest TSC office, the provided contact numbers (Director Staffing: 0202892193, Deputy Director- Staffing: 0202892131), or the email address dirstaffing@tsc.go.ke. They should also report any such incidents to the nearest police station.
