Police reported that the altercation involved a 15-year-old Grade Eight student and his 19-year-old brother, a Form Three student. The younger sibling allegedly struck his brother on the head and neck with a sharp panga during the argument, killing him instantly.

The suspect fled the scene after the incident, which occurred on May 27, following a disagreement in their home. Police say a manhunt is underway, and the victim’s body has been moved to the mortuary.

In a separate case, authorities are probing the murder of a 70-year-old man, Samuel Thoya Baya, in Ganze, Kilifi County. Baya was reportedly attacked and killed while shopping in the Dzikunge area on May 27. The motive behind the killing remains unclear, although there has been a concerning rise in violence against the elderly in the region.

Meanwhile, in Baringo County’s Narasha Forest, 40-year-old Jonathan Rono was found dead with severe head and arm injuries believed to have been inflicted by a sharp object. Investigations indicate he had left his home in Tachasis village for Arama centre on May 26 but never returned.

In another violent incident in Kipsaina, Trans Nzoia, a man named Humphrey Wamalwa was killed following a fight over a woman. Police say the attacker accused Wamalwa of having an affair with his wife. The suspect fled the scene in Huruma village, and the body was taken to the mortuary for a post-mortem as investigations continue.

Police have raised concerns over the rising number of murder cases across the country, with as many as eight reported daily. Several of these cases remain under investigation.
