Tanzanians Stranded in Dubai Return Home

By: BBC

236 Tanzanians have returned home this afternoon on a special Tanzanian Airlines flight after being temporarily stranded in Dubai due to the ongoing war between the United States, Israel and Iran.

ATCL says it is not their custom to send large aircraft to Dubai, but due to high demand they have had to do so and may send another aircraft in the near future.

Chief Operating Officer Captain Arif Jinnah said that this flight was a low-cost flight, not a free flight, and all the passengers who were scheduled to arrive have arrived, despite having to leave their luggage behind.

International airlines have suspended flights to the Middle East since Iran began retaliating against US and Israeli action against it by attacking US military bases in Arab countries in the region.

Flights to and from Tel Aviv, Dubai, Doha and other international hubs in the region have been suspended.

Iran has carried out attacks in Gulf states as part of retaliation for US and Israeli attacks that began early Saturday, February 28.
