Tragedy struck on Monday evening as a collision between a lorry and a private car resulted in the loss of six lives on the Kericho-Nakuru highway, specifically in the Duka Moja area.
Regional traffic commandant, Dorothy Muleke, reported that the accident occurred when the driver of the private vehicle attempted to overtake a line of vehicles, leading to a devastating head-on collision with the lorry.
The victims, all passengers of the Toyota Probox involved in the crash, tragically perished at the scene, while one individual was rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

At the time of the accident, the private car was en route to Kericho, while the lorry was traveling in the opposite direction.
Additional casualties sustained injuries of varying degrees and are currently receiving medical attention at several hospitals in Kericho town.
