Authorities are probing the incident where the teenager purportedly used a spear to fatally injure the younger girl at Nyandiwa village.
According to reports, the suspect, who suffers from mental illness, was playing with other children when a dispute arose. She allegedly grabbed a spear from her father’s house and inadvertently struck her niece on the head, resulting in immediate death.
Law enforcement officers swiftly responded to the scene, documented the situation, and relocated the victim’s body to Siaya County Referral Hospital.
The suspect is currently in custody, cooperating with the ongoing investigation, while the murder weapon has been secured as evidence.
