Shilling Exceeds the Sh160 Threshold Against the Dollar

On Monday, the official exchange rate of the shilling against the dollar surpassed the 160-unit mark, marking a sustained and steady depreciation trend that has reduced the margin between the official and retail selling rates of the US currency.

The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) published an indicative rate on Monday morning, indicating that the exchange rate concluded at Sh160.23 per dollar.
